SESSION 1: JUNE 1-5
In this tree-mendous week of outdoor fun, we will explore the basic principles of forestry and natural resource management. There will be lots of games and hands-on, science-based activities related to the wide variety of tree and plant species, including how these species respond to fire and what is needed to maintain a healthy ecosystem.
In this toad-ally awesome week, we will live on the wild side by learning about a variety of local wildlife species and adventuring into different habitats within the Austin Cary forest. We will learn how to identify and handle animals and about different land management practices that affect them.
SESSION 2: JUNE 8-12

Can’t decide between sessions 1 and 2? Then join us for this exciting week that will include a combination activities and topics from the first two sessions! We will branch out and explore the diverse ecosystems in the forest, learning about trees, soil, and wildlife.

There is a shuttle service that will assist with transportation to and from The Austin Cary Forest for a small fee. Our meeting location for pick up and drop off will be Westside Park located at 1001 NW 34th St, Gainesville, FL 32605. Pick up at Westside Park will be from 7:30-8:00 in the mornings and drop off at Westside Park will be from 5:00-5:30 in the evenings. Space is limited to the first 14 campers.
